News From Barney..!

Award Winner

We are winner of the Small Farm Attraction of the Year 2009  in a countrywide competition judged by The National Farm Attractions Network (NFAN). We are obviously delighted and so proud as we have come runner up twice but the winner's title has so far eluded us.

Wallabies

We are very excited to have welcomed some new arrivals to the farm park in the shape of Bennett wallabies. The female Matilda is grey and the male Sidney being white is very rare. They are a completely new animal to us and so I suspect that we will be at the start of a new learning curve! Pete, the farm worker says that he is happy to be watching them in their enclosure but doesn't want to be chasing them across the countryside as he thinks they will be able to jump quite high! I'm sure the fences are high enough but time will tell. Do come and see them and tell us what you think. The only thing we ask is that you are very quiet near them as they are easily frightened ALWAYS WHISPER NEAR WALLABIES!

GREAT NEWS - Matilda has a baby in her pouch. We have seen various parts of its anatomy sticking out and so hopefully it will decide to make a full appearance during the Summer holidays.

Goats

Cindy one of our pygmy goats gave birth to a beautiful little boy on the 4th May. We have called him Jack (Flash) as he can run so fast.

Pancake has just given birth to twins who we have called Sugar and Spice. They are her first babies and she is being a fantastic mother to them.

Micro Pigs

We are so excited as we have just got three little micro pigs. Please do come and see them. They really are very busy, rooting around their new surroundings, exploring every nook and cranny. The two females are called Ginger (Little Gin) and Pickles. The male has been christened Buster. He is so small yet so full of his own self importance, I don't think he realises how small he actually is as he struts around head held high looking very proud of himself!
